Dreaming the Universe: The Intersection of Science, Fiction, & Southern California, Through September 2, Pasadena Museum of History

Pasadena Museum of History’s newest exhibition explores “the history of science fiction in Southern California from the 1930s to the 1980s, and how it interacted with the advances of science, the changes in technology, and shifts in American society.”

Belleville, Pasadena Playhouse, April 18 to May 13

The newest show at Pasadena Playhouse is one that the New York Times calls, “A thrillingly good play.” It stars Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect, True Blood) and Thomas Sadoski (Life in Pieces, The Newsroom).

11th annual Concorso Ferrari, April 22

Old Town transforms into Ferrari central for this popular annual event in which vintage and contemporary Italian sports cars line Colorado Boulevard. Live in Pasadena? You can walk there!

Pasadena Showcase House of Design, Sunday, April 22 to May 20

The 54th annual event is a fundraiser and “one of the oldest, largest and most successful house and garden tours in the country. An estate of architectural significance is completely renovated by prominent designers using the latest color trends, concepts, products and technology. The success of the Pasadena Showcase House of Design has enabled PSHA to make donations of more than $23 million to support community music and arts programs throughout the community.”

Masters of Taste, May 6, 4–7pm, Rose Bowl Stadium

This Pasadena Food & Wine Festival is now in its third year, with a luxury food and beverage festival offering unlimited samplings from some of LA’s best restaurants, wineries, craft breweries, and mixologists. This event benefits Union Station Homeless Services.

Pasadena Restaurant Week, May 6 to May 11

“Pasadena Restaurant Week features many of Pasadena’s top dining establishments and local favorites. Participating restaurants will offer fixed price menus, special meals and deals during Pasadena Restaurant Week. Pasadena Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to try something new; more than 30 dining establishments participate.
